Then a Doctor Paid by MetLife Completely Ignored My Bloody Falls and Accidents !!
To DOL Secretary Solis, Asst. Secretary Borzi, and Director Watson,
My health, mind and sleep continue to be destroyed because you will do nothing about the obvious patterns of violations and crimes that MetLife and other insurers are inflicting on many very sick and injured Americans !!

MetLife and DOL’s top managers have read the quote where my Psychologist Wrote I’m in a “desperate situation”and the reports where she wrote that “MetLife seemed reckless, dangerous, and inhumane” and I often feel like “my brain is on fire”
After seeing this Metlife denied my claim by using a report from their Consultant Ophthalmologist who completely ignored extensive documentation of my bloody falls and accidents, left eye pulsing, and brain spasm feelings !!
This was the second consultant Ophthalmologist paid by MetLife since 2010 who never mentioned one word about my falls and accidents !!
Both Ophthalmologist’s did this even after Metife signed their third Non Prosecution agreement which,
“requires all MetLife employees to comply with all laws rules and regulations affecting MetLife’s business and its conduct in business affairs.”
A small portion of my medical records regarding falls and accidents is seen in Exhibit A
They include these quotes :
“Since 2001 I have had many jarring bumps to the forehead and head. Bumps into car door frames. Bumps into open cabinets, mantle’s, bumps into sharp corners and some of these have been close to my eyes. I have a narrow visual zone and beg people not to leave things on the floor up high. I bent into a peg at a retail store about a year ago and made a bleeding cut about an inch above my right eye.”
“not long after my cancer symptoms appeared I was in downtown Nashville and tripped over a rise in the sidewalk, fell on my knees and hands, tore my pants on the knee and bloodied my knees and hands.”
“I recently bumped my head so bad on a car door frame I sat on the car seat awhile and rubbed my head while the severe pain went away.”
MetLife allowed MES’s consultant Dr. Goetz to ignore this evidence and they sued his report to deny my claim !!
Dr. Goetz indicated he read the reports where my Psychologist wrote that when three other consultant doctors paid by MetLife ignored medical evidence regarding my eye cancer and vision they caused “Significant Destabilization” and MetLife “seemed reckless, dangerous, and inhumane”.
Goetz also read that I often feel like “my brain is on fire.”
BUT he still ignored this evidence and much more !!
The DOL is now very aware that in the near future I will have insufficient money for living expenses and medical treatment during the years it takes the Courts to make a ruling !!
DOL is very aware this has caused me such anguish I recently had two moments where I lost touch with reality as described in an email that had the following quotes :
“Last week I had two moments like I have never had before. I woke up twice one morning, but for a few seconds I still felt like I was in a horrible nightmare where everything in my life was extremely desperately wrong.”
“I cannot begin to describe the desperation I felt, and I was definitely awake but felt like I was in a nightmare at the same time.”
I was not in touch with reality during those moments that lasted a few seconds. I’m having nausea and great difficulties sleeping.”
I believe my recent break from reality was caused by two things :
(1) our top leaders completely reversing reality and allowing so many laws to be turned upside down and enabling the destruction of thousands of lives every year !! I feel a tremendous responsibility to help stop this !!
So many laws are being violated one Professor wrote “Cases of abusive benefit denials involving other disability insurers abound.”
Another Professor wrote "They've turned Erisa on its head," "It was supposed to protect employees, and it's being used to protect insurers."
(ERISA is the acronym for the insurance laws that protect 150 million Americans if the laws were actually enforced)

100% of Bloody Falls and Accidents Ignored By MetLife and Two Consultant Ophthalmologist’s paid by MetLife
Here is a very small portion of the quotes seen in my medical records.

I wrote Vertigo at the top of one page in my medical records. In 2010 Metlife and their consultant Ophthalmologist Dr. Weber never mentioned Vertigo or any of the following :
“When I turn and stop turning it often feels like I’m still turning. I feel this in my brain also. I can be standing still and feel like I’m moving. It usually feels like moving forward. This throws me off balance.”
Here are excerpts from a summary in my medical records and Metlife’s record. The summary was titled in bold print :
I feel very hard last week
Around the 18th of November I feel very hard outside.
My gel vision and other visual effects problems often cause me to have a small or large stagger step, and in this instance I remember not having a good picture as I stepped and I tripped and fell with force and jammed my arm into the ground to try to break the fall but still hit the ground with my body. I feel very fortunate that I did not break my arm or wrist.
My fingers, hand, wrist, back, and neck hurt a lot after words and they are still hurting some now especially when I lift anything.”

The following quotes from my Psychologist Dr. Carpenter’s report was never mentioned by two consultants paid by MetLife in 2011, even though they wrote they read the report with these quotes and reviewed all documentation thoroughly:
“He recently reported having 5 accidents (e.g. bumping and bloodying his head on a table, walking into a door frame) in the last month. He says falls or near falls are not uncommon experiences. These incidents are consistent with recommendations of his own doctor and the Social Security Judge who concluded Mr. Schmittou is unable to balance, kneel, crouch, crawl or stoop. I myself have witnessed his unsteady gait and tendency to bump into things. Even the casual observer could quickly discern this gentleman has vision problems.”

Fell into chair ignored by MetLife’s consultants
These quotes were ignored :
“When I visit with my mother it’s difficult for me to close my eyes and talk with her because she has Alzheimer’s and she really likes my full attention, but often I just have to tell her that I have to close my eyes for awhile because my vision and fixation problems are disturbing me so much.
“Not long ago I sat in her room talking for awhile, and got up for a brief time and went to set back down and walked right into a large chair even though I was looking in the exact direction of the chair. I was fortunate that I fell into the chair. I have a very narrow area that I am able to visually comprehend and/or react to.
I really wish I could figure out why it is so disturbing to set and just be looking at someone or objects in a room and have a great need to close my eyes because there are so many visual distortions going on at once.”

“I recently moved 11 Rubbermaid containers from my apartment to my parent’s house one morning, and that afternoon I unloaded them over an extended period of time and later I had a moment when I was actually standing up but visually it appeared that in a split second I fell face first to the floor and then was instantly back standing up. I was very happy this did not make me fall down.”
“Two nights ago I typed too long and later I was setting in a chair and bending over slightly and I had a huge image shift and what felt like a brain shift and I came very close to falling out of the chair.”
“Since my eye cancer I have tried to video several times and I while I enjoyed the experience I had a fall or near fall almost every time I have videod. Two of the near falls occurred within a few seconds of each other.”
Metlife and three consultants they paid in 2010 and 2011 ignored my report to Dr. Gannaway about near collapses when I used my vision too long such as my weekly trip to Walmart.
